Search for your family in 1916 Ireland.
Use the Free resources available to start a journey of discovery...
Step 1: Talk to family members;
Start with with your parents and then to aunts, uncles and extended family especially Grandparents.Find out where they lived ( County/Parish/Townland/Street).
Step 2: Write down what your discoveries;
Use a pencil and notepad to document neatly.
Step 3: Find any existing documents;
Collect any existing family history documents at home or in the attic of your parents or relatives.
Separate these (if any found) into Birth/Marriage/Death/ Property and Personal.
Step 4:
Find any old photographs of your grandparents/great-grandparents or earlier if found.
Step 5:
Using the locations given open;

Select the county of your ancestors and press submit
This bring up the townlands in alphabetical order for that County.
Scroll down to your ancestors townland and write down the Barony,Civil Parish and PLUr (Poor Law Union).
Step 6:
Now that you have the correct location of your ancestors in 1916 you can now open the Census records of 1911 followed by the census of 1901 to see a portrait of the family a few year before the 1916 rising.
